Getting off Prozac? was created by joelchigliak
I'm not sure if you guys will believe me (and why would you?) but I'm pretty sure I just got third path. My blah blah blah mind (i.e. 'problems') is dead. dead. gone. And the relationship between my 'self' and 'the world' is shattered.

In any case, does anyone know when people like Kenneth were able to stop taking antidepressants? Is this really just a fourth path thing? Does that shift really make the qualitative difference? Anyone have any experience with this?

thanks

I have some opinions on that kind of thing. Feel free to ignore them if you like! ;-P I think these kinds of things, depression, physical pain, etc are products of an old way of thinking. I think at the time they made sense and helped you with things like distracting you from other issues or worse pain (probably mental pain) or fit into your deeper world view about yourself at that time. For instance, if you did not feel yourself to be a worthwhile productive and wonderful person, then those feelings will manifest in your life and overall emotions. Thought patterns can also become habitual, especially if it is the only way you have known for a very long time. What do you think of yourself? Are you worried you haven't made enough 'progress?' Do you worry it wont work for you? Do you think of yourself as a victim of some process? Are you worried you will be stuck forever? Sometimes you can also continue to carry thoughts that directly conflict with other of your thoughts. Take a close look at all angles. Are there thoughts and feelings that you think are 'bad' and so don't want to look at? Continue to observe your emotions and thoughts and see what influence they have on you. Continue to look inside yourself for your answers and you will find them. How and when things manifest is probably different for everyone, but from what I have read from others, it does seem that for many, certain solutions don't come until farther along in the process and often they come rather suddenly (like a sudden shift in gears. .
