My friend Shannon Stein (author of
The Fire Kasina Book
) has a Brahma Vihara retreat coming up in April. The Brahma Viharas are one of those things I would love to learn more about and figure out how to add to my practice. Unfortunately my retreat / vacation time this year is already overbooked so I won’t be able to go to this. But I thought I’d share the information in case anyone else is interested.

The Brahma Viharas, or four immeasurables, are known in English as lovingkindness, compassion, empathetic joy, and equanimity. These practices of unselfish, boundless love open the heart and cultivate a stable, concentrated mind that is ripe for the teachings of liberation.
