A new AwakeNetwork!
As I mentioned the other day, AwakeNetwork is going through some changes. This is to allow the site to be more stable, more secure, and more scalable. It also looks prettier, and works better on mobile devices.
While I tried to test the new infrastructure that powers AwakeNetwork as best I can, I have no doubt there will be some minor issues. And there are also ongoing tweaks to the layout and configuration that I plan to do, but my priority was to get the site back up as quickly as I can. The migration was very labour-intensive, and I don't want to repeat it, so now that we are on this new platform I can do those tweaks more or less in-place.
So all that said, please use this thread to report issues or annoyances, and I'll try my best to knock them off quickly. On my short-list of things to address include:
1. The forum sub-menu doesn't match the options we used to have.
2. The forum posts needs some more visual separation on mobile devices. Some subtle colour would be nice.
3. The login/profile dropdown needs more whitespace.
4. Display (and update) the Terms of Service.
5. Import Magazine content.
Thanks for your patience through this, and thank you for your continued participation in AwakeNetwork.

Does anyone else not have access to something they did before? Chris, as an admin, you don't count.

I'm used to not counting, Tom.

No, something is messed up there. I tried to do the same last night and couldn't. In my case, I was getting an error saying that email address was already in use. I am going to turn off avatars for the moment until I get that figured out.

There is another issue which is that topic subscriptions are currently not emailing out their updates. I had this working while I was staging the site, but the service I am using for high-volume emails is currently inaccessible from my host. This is my top priority to fix, unless quick-fix bugs come in that I can knock off without derailing me too much.

My ask is that we ease into this. If there is something you want emails for, by all means subscribe to it. But for the time being, please limit to a single subscription (like your practice thread, for example). If all goes well for a week, say, then we can open it up to more. Since these emails are classified as "bulk email" we need to ensure that things are flowing nicely to avoid hurting our reputation, which impacts the number of emails that can be sent at one time.
Thanks for your patience and understanding.
