The dukkha nanas was created by telecaster
Stages 5-10, especially five through nine, do they necessarily occur on a straight progression? Or, does one go back and forth and up and down until passing through to the next stage?

Hi Mike,
Remember that you pass through all the strata of mind available to you in each sitting, both on the way up and on the way down the jhanic arc. So, although the nanas arise in order, they are seen over and over again. Even more to the point, the 10th nana, Knowledge of Reobservation, is a cycling of the dukkha nanas, along with some special unpleasant surprises of its own.

Maybe I really don't understand.
I thought these states would be going on in daily life, not always as part of some passing through while in a sitting.
What if the sitting got interrupted? Once you hit five, do you always sit and go to ten? That seems odd, at least right now.
I thought what you are describing only happened once someone had gone through stream entry. Not as soon as they crossed the A&P and hit the dark night.
