Upcoming Buddhist Geeks interview

Upcoming Buddhist Geeks interview was created by kennethfolk
I just finished recording a Buddhist Geeks interview by telephone with Vince Horn. He asked me to tell my dharma story and a little bit about the 3 Speed Transmission. So I did. Buddhist Geeks has a large audience, so we may get some new members after the show airs in a few weeks. If you already read or contribute to this forum, you can begin thinking of yourself as part of the "old guard." :-D

"... we may get some new members after the show..."

Kenneth, I think that's probably an understantement. If the URL to KFDh is mentioned, or even if KFDh is mentioned by name alone, we'll be inundated ;-)

And CONGRATULATIONS!

Thanks, Jackson and Chris. I remember the big influx of new members at the old DhO right after Daniel's BGeeks interview and how difficult the transition was to the new reality... so I feel a little intimidated. But we have a solid group here and I think we have a good chance of keeping on track. And because I have more time to dedicate to dharma teaching with grad school in the rear view mirror, it makes sense to reach out to more people. If we do grow the community, it will be bittersweet, because I love what is going on here now and what has been going on here since we began in July. Yikes! The great unknown looms dead ahead... It's a good thing we all meditate so much. :-D

Yea fellas, time to start feeling like old farts...or old guard or something. Congrats on increased exposure. Work being done here is very solid.

For the sake of Tomo, Tim and myself I would not mind an influx of new members to exchange experiences with at our stratum of practice.

As Jackson mentioned in another thread, a lot of people on the forum are flying at "very high skies", hard to relate to experientially.

Cheers.

LOL, as usual my timing is impeccable. But so far the only thing I've contributed is rampant speculation. ;)

I'm really looking forward to the interview though!

Yeah, it was a really fun interview, thanks Kenneth!

It will likely air in 2-3 weeks, as a two-parter. Hope everyone enjoys. :)

Yes, welcome to the forum, Vince, and thanks for having me on the show. After the interview yesterday, you and I talked for another hour or so, and afterward I remember thinking that I wished we had recorded that too! This is something Daniel and I have talked about from time to time; maybe we should record all of our conversations on the odd chance that we really get going on some topic and want to share it with people later. On the other hand, we might get carried away like Richard Nixon did with his White House tape recordings of every conversation. :-) Good news, bad news, who knows?

Here's seconds to seeing Vince here. Kudos to the old DhO1.0 Crew! Feels like a reunion of sorts.

Thank you for continuing this all important dharma dialogue.

I'm hoping that the interview will tell your dharma story leading to Arahatship, and also provide some of the background about the inception of your Three Speed Transmision, such as:

Kenneth: 'Shortly after my 4th Path enlightenment, I was all vipassana perspective. The thing that shook me out of it was a heavy diet of Ramana, Tolle, Adyashanti, and the people I was spending my time with, most of whom were exploring the non-dual lens. Then the pendulum swung, and I was all non-dual. This lasted for several years. I was shaken out of it by attending the DhO gathering at Daniel's house and by participating in DhO discussions online. Now I'm advocating balance.' '“ from DhO thread: Responses to Realization and Development (4/19/09)

If you didn't... well, you should write a book (I said it!).
Daniel did such a great job for a lot of people, and I think that we all need also Kenneth's flavour about the whole package.
We have the writings here, sure, and even in the threads there are a tons of gems ('value', as the mundane/market people say).
But a book... wow! It would be great... :)
