Dreams about death: Do you give in? was created by TheQuestioner7
Hello all!
I'm a new stream enterer and I recently became good friends with someone else who is a new stream enterer, and we somehow we both realized that when we have dreams of death we eventually give into them, and I notice a fruition but she's not trained to see them. I'm interested in your dreams about death or a death struggle and what happened. Here's one from me:
I was under a overturned boat, and I was struggleing for air and there was this shark attacking me, and as long as I stayed under the boat I would be okay, but it was very stressful. Finally I just said that its okay. I'll trust the outside world and see what happened, so I left from under the boat and....
Something happened!
Then I woke up.
So what are some of your dreams?

In my experience this manifests in what I call "it doesn't matter" dreams. Those are dreams in which some crisis or dilemma is presented, to which there are generally two answers:
1. deal with the situation as I always have, from what the Buddha would call ignorance
2. drop "me" and ego concerns, and thus achieve a more balanced solution - deal with the situation sans ego
These kinds of dreams were very common for me around first path, too, but more often prior to than after. They seemed to cluster around the times when I was struggling with the nature of just what "me" really is. As that issue has been addressed by progressively deeper cycles of insight, those dreams have stopped occurring.

Do you remember any of your old dreams that you want to share? I've got another one:
I was with some friends in a public place and there was a car coming and there was no way me or my lady friend could move, and somehow it seemed to drag a on long time, then I relaxed and came out of the dream.
