Tibetan Bon - Dzogchen meditation was created by Khara
A few days ago I viewed the following videos, then shared them with Kenneth... For additional clarity, I'll share excerpts of our discussion here.
3 part video by Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche - a Tibetan Bon dzogchen meditation: "Unification of the Three Spaces."
My initial question to Kenneth was regarding some confusion I had about the first video whereby I thought Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche may have been describing the "Witness" and transitioning from 2nd gear to 3rd gear.
Kenneth's reply: Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche is "asking us to find the Absolute nature within phenomena. Beautifully pointed to and embodied by someone who clearly understands it, I might add. I was multitasking while listening to it, responding to emails, so I may have missed some parts. Which parts reminded you of 2nd Gear?" - Kenneth
My reply (excerpts): "Yesterday, I had several interruptions while I was watching the videos... perhaps that added to my misunderstanding." ..."In the 1st video, he said some things that at the time seemed to be related to 2nd gear transitioning to 3rd gear... particularly when he talked about appearance of subject & object that dissolves in that space. Also, descriptions such as: "Be conscious of the ego... look at the ego." "The subject, the ego that occupied that space has simply dissolved."

continued excerpts of my reply:
"I just now watched the videos again. - This time without interruptions." ..."Through this focused listening, it's now clear to me that he is describing purely 3rd gear practice."
..."I think I placed too much emphasis on certain words. Also, initially didn't understand what he meant by the three spaces, etc. - After checking out some of his other videos, I now understand... He uses the word "space" to mean "Emptiness." - Tina
Kenneth's reply: "Yes, I see what you mean about how the part about looking at the ego would make you think 2nd Gear until you notice that he really wants us to look beyond the three situations of subject, object, and relationship (1st, 3rd, and 2nd person perspectives) to what underlies all of them, which as you say is space or emptiness (primordial awareness). I really enjoyed the talk. If you want to link to it on the forum, I think a lot of people would appreciate and benefit from it."
