Excellent!
Just a quick question about the dates, since this is a Friday to a Friday. For those of us who need to arrange time off from work, it would be helpful to know when on Nov 5 it starts. If we were interested in attending the full retreat, would we need to arrange for the 5th off as well, or would we be OK coming in later in the evening?

Good question, Ian. Let me talk with the retreat committee and I'll post the answer here as soon as I know.

"Is there an airport/transit system nearby?"
Check out Stewart International Airport (SWF).

Also, there are trains from New York City. See the public transportation options at the bottom of this page from The Grail, the retreat facility where we plan to hold the retreat:

Hi Everyone,
I regret to announce that I have decided to postpone the planned November 5-12 retreat indefinitely. As we got further into the planning, it became apparent that we would have to resolve issues relating to liability insurance, non-profit incorporation and/or fiscal sponsorship before going ahead with the retreat. And since decisions like that are too important to be rushed, I decided, after consulting with all of the members of the planning committee, to take a step back.
I am deeply sorry for the inconvenience this causes for those of you who were looking forward to the retreat and had even begun to clear space on your calendars.
Sincerely yours,
Kenneth

Oh no, too bad! I completely understand the reasons for canceling (darn litigious society), but it is sad nonetheless
