Electric Lightning Flashes

Has anyone had weird flashes when lying down to sleep? This happened to me on a few occasions and I thought I was having a stroke or something, but no negative effects since.

I was doing a formless practice for a while, so I'm sort of trying to piece together some experiences in the context of the paths described by Kenneth on this site.

Anyhow, picture a feeling of electricity flashing through the body accompanied by a flash of light in the mind. I was afraid so I kept my eyes open and didn't attempt to sleep until the feeling subsided.

This hasn't happened since, but it happened maybe 2 times total.

Ya.. pretty freaky huh? Don't worry.. it's normal. I'm sure others will testify, a lot of weird stuff happens! Just remain mindful of your fearful responses and be open to whatever happens. That's basically the formula to deal with any weird phenomena. Open, aware,non discriminative

Yes, and with great frequency. To the point that it would worry me if these flashes didn't happen.

Yes--the night of A&P a number of years ago. Bright blue flashes that were, exactly as you describe, lightning-like. And it happened while lying down to sleep. Not a recurring phenomenon for me, though.
