"Gary, what happens with one itch if you stay with it. Does it get stronger, clear and bright and then start to fade or does it fade immediately?"
It gets stronger then fades slowly back into fine vibrations over say a few seconds. When the itch fades it tends to make the background fine vibrations stronger. These vibrations are really fine and fast. When I am not concentrated as an itch becomes bright the surge in "energy" invokes a rapture ending the itch abruptly.
[edit] I know to find something else would be good, when it changes I'll be in touch

When I woke up vibrations were slower and stronger and concentration was good, as I have got into the day they are back to being fine a fast.
I did not do a sit.

In a sit last night I had what think is a new state arise. There was not a noticable moving up the arc that I can speak of. Early in the sit the perceptual space was suddenly empty with a pressure pushing outwards. After this event concentration for the sit was remarkably easy. Resting perception on an object feels effortless.
In this mornings sit the ease of concentration is still there, I sat for over an hour and stopped because I was concerned it was too easy and too long. Lots of itches found if I stayed with an itch there is a point of slight inclination to move off the the object but if you stay lightly it pulses and there is a corrosponding pulse in the visual field. The trick to getting the pulsing seems to be to stay lightly without too much effort at that point where there is a bit of a natural inclination to move away.
Resolution: I don't know how long these easy sits will hang around so I will make the most of it.
[edit] Should read, "There was not a noticable moving up the arc that I can speak of."

Had a lucid dream where I "saw" the mind diverting attention from objects to maintain illusions. I just managed to catch the start of a thought that somehow gave me a different perpective. (AIthough I cannot recall that perspective now.)
Sits continue to be easy. Lots of pulsing in the visual field, went there without staying with an itch, so I am not sure what to make of that. I stayed with pulsing and got fast strobing. Also noted and stayed with vibrations overlayed with fine vibrations around the third eye.
The third eye vibrations and pressure continue now (after the sit).

Early in the sit there was one extrucating itch that did not leave for the whole sit. I stayed with it a lot noticed my leaving and coming back to it, the itch sensation and the draw to scratch, the bodies response to not scratching. At one point there was some relief after the visual field flashed like the shutter on a camera. But (response noted) about 30 seconds later I was back noticing all the sensations around that damn (response noted agian
) itch. Previously staying with an itch would tend to diminish the intensity this time it was like a wave that just kept coming.

During the sit the thought to get somewhere came up in various forms, maybe from a "well of anticipation". Maybe this anticipation is a mind state. In a recent pm to a friend there was a describing of devotional practice being analogue and investigation being digital. In noticing the analogue nature of anticipation ( I cannot really penetrate it with investigation it just reflects itself in the flavour of thoughts and sensations) it has occurred to me maybe mind states are like a subjective devotional practice. So devotional practice and the practice of objectifying mind states may assist each other because they have the same root ignorance. Perhaps my general overall ignorance of both these practices has a common unconscious element. Puts a new slant on the saying "you have got to love yourself before you can love others".

Today, now, there is a calm. All things are from a movement of mind. There is only movement and in the recognition of this movement, there must be "no movement". How strange it is for me to say I will wakeup to myself and to invest in this self indulgence.
