a solution for your present and future problems kenneth! was created by lungPi
hello kenneth folk!
i dont know if you already found a solution but my suggestion is why to trouble yourself and others and not just follow the solution of the wisest of the wise. They already thought about it a thousandmillion times. They have already chosen the best solution for themselves and everybody!!! MOnkhood!!!
You have to consider what you really want! It sounds for me you want and try to join two things which no arahan even ever tried to join! What is your real priority? Taking care about your body and beside of it teaching dhamma or teaching dhamma and beside taking care about THE body?
The answer for all your problems which you face right now and much more in the near future while teaching is monkhood! Yes you can become a arahan without being a monk no question but for teaching monkhood is without question the most suitable mode. Different step!!! New cosideration! New world!!! New case!!!

Hi lungPi,
What the.....?????
Context???? What are Kenneth's problems?
Please elaborate? You think we should all become monks? My fiancee wouldn't approve nor would Kenneth's wife. The times are a changing, lungPi. People don't have to become monks nor nuns to awaken and to live an awakened life. Accept it!!!!!!! This is the West, and I don't wanna become a monk. I tried it for 2 weeks and I don't like sleeping on a concrete floor. I like my posturpedic bed. I like being a normal every day human being, dressed in jeans and shirt. I have much respect for renunciates. But this is a new modern world and the Dhamma adapts. Adapt with it or not. You have a choice. There has always been a choice.
Edited to add: If Kenneth became a monk he would be trading one set of problems for another. As a monk, you can't talk about attainments nor this nor that. You have more "rules" to follow. In the west, you might not get the "basics" to live, like food and shelter. You have to deal with all the traditional dogmatic ideas of "buddhism". He would attract different types of students perhaps, the more traditional of types who adhere to the pali canon or this text or that text without questioning its validity....oof! Problematic, no? Life is full of problems, lungPi, regardless of being a renunciate or a layperson.

Nick

"i dont know if you already found a solution but my suggestion is do it like the wisest of the wise. They already thought about it a thousandmillion times. Do you think you are more clever than them? You think you can invent the wheel new? "
This is antagonistic, I hope my post on this thread is the last and it dies a natural death! I posted in the authors other thread that at least gave the "appearance" of being genuine, certainly it was more curtious.

context:
I was unable (i guess because my phone browser!) to reply to kenneths post where he asks the community about their opinions if he would charge/ask for money for his teaching/service - make/earn a living with it! So i just opened a new post! he knows what i am talking about.
Whats antagonistic??? Sorry i dont know.
Sorry my headline should better be
"a solution for your problems kenneth" to make clear that i address only him and not want to make my opinion public for your all consideration. Only for his consideration!
Sorry for my slow clarification!
