New SFZC Podcast: Ed Brown: very cool

Brown is a zen priest and a long-time practioner. He talks about having a lot of problems and of people thinking that he shouldn't have problems because he is supposedly a "zen master" or whatever.
He says that he hasn't eliminated any of his problems but that he may know more about his problems than he did before practicing.
He says he is from the "get real" school of zen.

You sure can pick a winner MM. I have really enjoyed every one of your recomendations.

If nothing else, Mr. Brown always makes me giggle.
I like the way he reminds practitioners about their problems.
He's been in and around spiritual communities for so many years I think he has really seen himself and others take themselves way too seriously and try so hard to be "spiritual" that they have a hard time dealing with just being normal.
Lately I think that I try to resist being like that so much (because I have been believe me) that I go too far in the other direction and thus get just as distorted.

Ed Brown seems like a really open and honest guy; at the very least he doesn't seem at all afraid to be who he is. I haven't seen the film in a few years, but I enjoyed the documentary about him titled "how to cook your life" very much.

I find that audio dharma talks are a great addition to my practice, I hope that others enjoy them too.
