Three Characteristics

Three Characteristics was created by mumuwu
So I'm noting and eventually experiencing vibrations all over. Also things are arising into awareness and then something else takes center stage. Nothing tends to stick around for a very long time -e.g. itches, pulses, etc. (impermanence).

I am also experiencing pains/itches/and there is really no relief from it unless I want to stop meditating. Nothing I do tends to take these sensations away other than stopping meditating (i.e. ignoring this stuff) (dukkha).

I am seeing these things come and go on their own, and I am objectifying them (no-self).

Is this correct?
:)

Want to make sure I'm getting the fundamentals down pat.

That Manual of Insight, Volume 2, Chapter 5 is so so so so good. It answers so many questions clearly and logically.
Unless I missed it, he doesn't go into samatha jhanas at all, right? I think that is a separate subject for him.

Wow. I've only seen a portion of this chapter before (the instructions / not the path description).

Cool!

I know. I feel like he covers everthing here. I especially like the way he describes all the stuff that can happen, positively or negatively, while practicing and how to deal with it.
Though he does say at the end that it is impossible for him to cover everything. Which is why a teacher must be sought.

If I was stuck on a desert island and could choose only one chapter from one book to have with me, the Manual of Insight, Vol 2, CH5 would win hands down. My other faults not withstanding, I am rather well read, and as far as written teachings go I honestly consider the Manual of Insight, Vol 2, CH5 to be in a class all by itself.
