Perspectives on Direct Mode for the 1st Gear Set

Gil Frondal offers a window for understanding aspects of what Kenneth is talking about re: direct mode (or may be talking about...at least, based on my limited view). This is a long multi-valent talk which unfolds with further listening. It is not devoted to direct mode, per se, but discusses path and destination in some very illuminating ways which I think touch on Kenneth's statement that he is talking about "Buddhism 101". There are a several zen stories in here and the entire talk demands a little time, but it's worth sitting with--particularly for practitioners who are still starting out. For the very time challenged, you may wish to tune in at 8:30 mins and again at 22 mins to get a sense of it. May this be of benefit.
