The Hamilton Project Podcast was created by NikolaiStephenHalay
So we (Owen, Clayton and myself) have been pretty lazy about doing another podcast for our blog
thehamiltonproject.blogspot.com/
One of the reasons is that we ran out of things to talk about that could be put on a podcast for all.
Any other ideas for a podcast chat?
Some ideas so far:
A podcast on stream entry
A podcast on 4th path stuff with other 4th pathers joining in
A podcast on 3rd gear practice (3rd gear being Direct Mode and/or The Clear Light/Primordial Awareness)
Keep them coming please!!!!

Not sure if it's outside the scope of the podcast, but it would be interesting to hear you guys talk about 3rd gear practice, since it seems to be what you're practicing at the moment.

I vote Stream Entry, because that's where I am. I haven't checked out your podcast yet, but maybe some personal info from each of you about your own experiences in your practice and what got you started/keeps you going might be interesting. As an internet yogi I think I and others could benefit from hearing that sort of thing. From what I've read from the three of you anything you do will be very helpful.

My personal vote goes to the 4th path stuff . However, it could be a good idea to perhaps start grouping the podcasts based on "experience" levels. A beginner level being all about stream entry (what I would have given fot that back in the old days), an intermediate level, talking about everything post 1st path all the way to 3rd path, and an advanced level talking about post 4th path and 3rd gear. I figure in that way, anyone can know which podcast may be more suitable for their practice. With that said, I would suggest to make the next podcast about stream entry, as I have seen that there are many new eager yogis joining our community and I'm certain they can benefit in the short run from such podcast.
We still need to make one on 4th path soon though! gotta talk about the spiral!
lol

My vote is for Stream Entry, too, for the same reasons as RevElev.
Thanks for asking!

I thought immediately, vote for Stream Entry, because I am not very interested in all the other stuff at this point.
But then I thought that "Hey, what do I have to do?"
"Sit my ass down and note, and that's it!" to paraphrase a wise man
Don't need too much elaboration to do that, so I vote for whatever you deem interesting.
Good job getting the info out there, whatever "level" your info is geared at, guys!

Hi Guys, thanks for the feedback.
If it were a podcast on stream entry, what specific details would people like to hear us chat about?
Just our own experiences up until it happened? Because I think we did an unposted recording of that but perhaps we can be more detailed.

I think we all know what it takes - consistent and persistent noting of everything. I would be looking in this podcast for the inspiration to get it done. That would probably be conveyed through personal experiences that demonstrate how we can all do it, plus the rewards of attaining path.

Podcast on Stream Entry
Ok, Im writing the following questions here so I will remember to have some of them ready when we do the podcast. We are sometimes liable to go off on tangents, although sometimes soemthing interesting comes up. But sometimes someone farts or something or we just space out or end up talking about direct mode. Hehe!
Questions:
When did you start practicing?
What did you start practicing?
How were your experiences of those practice/s
When did you really go for stream entry? Or did it happen without you knowing?
What did you start doing once you decided to go for stream entry?
What type of resolution, if one was used, did you take and what was your experience making resolutions?
Did anything happen that was out of the ordinary, worth mentioning?
What did you find difficult and tricky and how did you navigate and overcome any problems if there were any?
How did you manage the dark night?
What do you think is needed to get it done?
What did the path moment seem like?
What insight was gained from the experience /non-experience?
What happened directly afterwards?
How did it change you?
How long do you think it really took you to get stream entry?
How much effort is needed?
What type of momentum did you develop in your practice?
How did you practice in daily life/on retreat to get that momentum going?
What is your favourite colour?
What tips would you give if anyone wanted to get stream entry themselves?

"Ok, that sounds easy.
Perhaps a lowdown on each of our individual histories, what we were doing before hand, what types of practices. Our experiences as yogis, then perhaps what got the ball rolling in the desired direction (stream entry). What we found inspired us o get it done. What we perhaps tweaked, changed, included, followed in order to get it done. What we think helped us get it done. Strange occurences on the path to stream entry (I had a few), what was it like once it was attained? What changed? How did life change? What was it like directly afterwards? Etc etc.
Anything else?
"
Yup, do it!

Honestly, just focus on how in order to get around our own trickiness, note out loud, note the four foundations!
Perhaps some tips on the dark night and some descriptions or things to look for. I know when it hit me the first time it came after a real high, and I wasn't expecting it and it was devastating.

Just a technical note: The ones that I've listened to before had very varying audio levels between you guys, if I remember Clayton's volume was really low compared to you and Owen. Maybe it's fixed now or it was just my setup, if so ignore this.

Well, this is about our own experiences and I never noted out loud, mu. Each of us had varying ways of approaching stream entry. I did my own thing as I hadn't been introduced to Kenneth at that stage. All that, noting the four foundations and out loud etc is written down on the left handside of the screen here at KFD. No need to talk about that. Although what we found tricky is a good one.

If we tackled half that list it would be a 6 hour marathon
we tend to go off like Nick mentioned. My volume is fixed. We all did take different paths to Stream Entry. Nick did Mahasi Noting. I was combining Noting and the Goenka scanning method, and Owen chose to get his ass kicked by some rinzai roshi off in the woods... Having said I have found the noting out loud practice very powerful and I would imagine its one of the more efficient ways to get past the stream entry hurdle...

This is the positive side of the "hard core dharma" gender imbalance: endless fart jokes and no worries that anyone will be offended!

I'm still putting in a request for a few thoughts on compound jhana.
As per stream entry: I'd ask a few words on the underlying fear of actually acheiving it. And also: how to note and disembed from the mental/emotional sensations once the physical sensations are more or less noted and consistantly dealt with.
