Hello everyone! I am headed out to LA at the end of the month to visit my girlfriend and seeing if there is a place near LA (within 10 hours) where there a strong spiritual community which I could move into or access. For me this would ideally include: 1) a meditation hall 2) something of a guru 3) possibly a farm for sustainable practices 4) deep meditation retreats/practice
So far I have located the metta forest monastery headed by the abbot Thanissaro Bhikkhu. Can anyone give feedback about this place or offer up some others (tradition is not important to me so long as I get guidance in vipassana)
