What is losing your self in the music? was created by orasis
Does losing your sense of self when fully absorbed in music correspond to any specific state? If awareness of the present moment is strong while listening, is this just a third gear perspective on that state? Or is this simply the cleanness that is present when the narrative mind is turned off?
I see flavors of ships in the harbor for the actual sounds though the body is anticipating the rhythm. There is excitement and joy arising but it seems self-less - just free-floating positive emotions.

This is one of my fave meditations, losing myself in music. Especially entertaining if you're going through a period that's filled with kriyas.

Interesting to follow Ajahn Sumedho's technique and listen, in particular, to the endings of sounds, noticing what remains. Very similar to Kenneth's ships in the harbor practice.
