Dharma Humor was created by giragirasol
A friend and I recently made a Meditation Excuses generator. The excuses were collected from real meditators at all levels and in a variety of traditions, including some people who participate on this forum. It's humorous, yet it isn't, because these are all examples of the kinds of things we get stuck with at various points in our practices. Some people have found that a particular excuse hits them like an arrow (because it is too true). Other excuses seem comical, especially if they aren't ones that you are struggling with yourself.

The site is at: meditationexcus.es/

One of the ones that made me laugh hardest was a guy who said he sometimes doesn't want to sit because he doesn't want to have to journal about it after. And on the opposite end a woman told me she usually journals first (to set down worries that are running through her mind that day), and she sometimes doesn't want to sit because she will have to do that exercise first! Another that was two opposites: one teacher said a student had been avoiding meditation because she heard you shouldn't sit on a full stomach, while another said she'd avoided meditating because she was hungry.

Any feedback welcome!

I can't sit sometimes. My cat won't allow it. He crawls up in my lap and meows loudly and if I ignore him he bites me. I could easily shut him out of the room but then I wouldn't be able to say I can't sit because my cat won't let me.

I didn't meditate because my birds were making too much noise. :-)
