Cessation versus non-duality was created by Privacy_Dude
Hello folks,
One of the things I've recently been trying to reconcile is the relationship between experiences of cessation and experiences of non-duality.
I understand them individually, and they are subjectively different, but I'd be interested in any feedback on your understanding of their relationship. In what order do they occur? Is there an normal order? Or are they the same thing somehow? Does one condition the other? Is one required for the other to arise? I hope my confusion is apparent...?
Many thanks for your assistance,
P

My answer (and I think Kenneth's as well) is No.

I think "non-duality" is a perspective, that may be momentary or permanent. It's also a fact, or a supposed fact, about reality- i.e. reality itself is non-dual even if our human perspective is dualistic.
A "cessation" is an actual thing that occurs in a mind-moment, and in that mind-moment, I figure your perspective would be non-dual.
