You get to create your own enlightenment...or not

All ideas about liberation, how experience is supposed to be, or how you are supposed to behave are just ideas. Arhatship, Actual Freedom, and Total Ignorance are all equally meaningless.

If you want, you can simply be enlightened, no matter if experience is peace or suffering, expanded or contracted, manipulated or non-manipulated.

Peaceful, expanded, non-manipulation is a nice aesthetic. It's also bull$hit. or not.

Non-manipulation of experience may be much, much easier and perhaps seemingly more inherent in certain baselines over others where manipulation (if we call investigating cause and effect manipulation) is probably a better idea. Non-manipulation may seem like boolsheet when the baseline still leans towards or is pushed and pulled by such judging tendencies (i.e. it is/isn't boolsheet). And a view perhaps like the one stated by yourself above?

Equally meaningless? perhaps ultimately. But it makes life much easier, if to make life easier (more light, fun, at peace and happy for all concerned) is the objective of one's practice, to manipulate (as described above) a little of one's experience first to then not have to down the line where one does not have to deal with the push and pull of 'it is boolsheet' vs 'it isn't boolsheet' tendencies. Non-manipulation would seem like boolsheet when such push and pull is still in play.

Gotta fabricate your path (deal with the push and pull tendencies) to some degree before you can drop the fabricating (no push and pull whatsoever, where non-manipulation trumps them all).

Edit: Oh, I agree, you create/fabricate your own 'enlightenment' whatever that is.

Thoughts create their own (illusory) reality. They can create ideas such as time, objects, and places and relationships between those things. It is easy to see that time and objects do not really exist without the continuous support of thoughts to keep them afloat.

The belief in a certain ideal of contemplative development is still just a thought.

It is possible for thoughts to create a reality where thoughts and manipulation of an illusory reality are included in an ideal of contemplative development.

Paradoxical. No?

This is not to say that any other ideal of contemplative development is less valid, it is simply to say that all ideals of contemplative development are equally invalid as well as equally valid. That is, unless you apply a specific (conceptual) value system or (conceptual) aesthetic to judge the invalidity or validity of different ideals of contemplative development. Within a given (conceptual) value system, some ideals will be preferred over others, but still, this is simply an illusory conceptual preference.
