So, I hated my old name on here (limbicsail) and am starting anew on that front along with my new practice thread here. Let up for a while throughout the summer, had said numerous times before I was getting very serious about my practice, very qualitative, and had it not go very far, lost initiative as to the practice thread, but meditated very much over this summer, made some progress, am in a place now where at least have more awareness than previously, and am starting again with the documentation and participation, with a nice refresher coming from meeting some of you all at the BG conference last weekish.
Last tuesday I had surgery, and I've been feeling tired often since then, but having lost swelling, I'm starting the thread today. So now, off for an hour and a half sit.

Sat for just an hour when a call from my sister came through that I had to get.
Started with half an hour of concentration, breath awareness - buuu stop dhoooo stop buuuu stop dhooo and so on.
By the time I shifted to noting (open awareness noting) the symptoms were already present: a fine tension in the jaw/mid-head area. Different than what I've been encountering for most of the summer, this was very fine, continuous, settled, specific, pretty noticeable, but subtle. At one point there was a jerk in my neck, but this was actually just because one side of it all of a sudden lost some tension and the remaining side pulled my head over a bit, not because something twitched.
Big thing in these sits is difficulty with stories, mind going adrift with stories. This is definitely where my meditation is hindered. Before, before the summer, I was highly embroiled in a really pessimistic narrative. Now, perhaps I can master it better.
Edit - after the sit, my head is aching.
