It's a nice idea. But it's a big question. Why the definitive "no"s?

I suspect the strong no are because the mechanism "cosmic evolution" is pretty much a non-starter...
If you asked if more people are waking up (raw total numbers) I would say yes, it could be, because of more people with access to information and spare time. If you asked if a greater percent of people are awake, I would say probably not and even less percent overtime, because of the massive population growth occuring where people are not generally able to access information and have time for practice/deep reflection.
Ironicially, I think having good conditions is highly coorellated to being able to be beyond conditions. But who knows?

"Why the definitive "no"s?"
Seriously? There's no way to arrive at an answer to any of the parts of the proposition. It's the kind of thing certain folks write high falutin' sounding books about, though

Yes, I was serious. I believed you were saying "no" to the idea that this was possible, which would be a definitive "answer to the proposition", although perhaps you weren't. As stated, it's a big question, and one without definite answers, which is why I was curious that you seemed to have an opinion on the general sway of the universe.

I just had a similar conversation elsewhere, because i was surprised when a spiritual teacher mentioned a general 'evolution' towards a future in which humans are all awake, and i thiught where on earth did that concept come from? it seems to come partly from theosophy and partly from ken wilber, among other influential sources. but what puzzled me was how that was anything other than a sciencey-sounding secular substitute for believing in heaven or similar future spiritual utopias where everyone is united in peace and one with God and such things. It struck me as the kind of belief that expresses a human need to have hope for a better future. (pardon typos, on a mobile)

My definitive "No" was in reference to the spending of any time pondering the questions posed ("truck" was the word used, I think).
