Which nana is tunnel vision + solid crushing sensation?

Hi guys,

I'm working on the meditation experience spreadsheet, and there is a mind state that I can jump to that feels like a crushing heaviness with tunnel vision and perhaps some pressure on the chest. The general experience is 'this sucks'. Does this resonate with anyone? What nana do you think it is?

"Crushing heaviness" sounds familiar... I used to describe it as the body feeling constricted, like something pushing in on the skin. Dukkha nanas territory, couldn't say which one. Don't think I get the tunnel vision part.

I know that one, i think. I also associate it with grinding my teeth. No idea on which nana, though

Maybe misery? Do eyes clench and does the nose wrinkle? I never thought about it that way, but seems to fit.

A very very unrefined 3rd pure land is a remote possibility, just for the heaviness.

Villium, is that PL associated with a tunnel vision up into the head space?

my jhanas aren't working too well today. They feel very tense and restricting. But on an attempt, no particular tunnel vision

It almost feels like when I am the most stressed out and tired that I have ever been. I feel weight and tingeing in the chest and weight and tingling in the front of the face. The tunnel vision just feels like a grayness descends obscuring the periphery.

This is totally different energy from the eyes clench, nose wrinkle, facial grimace.

There is an energy of forced sighing long exhale. It is very draining to experiment with and has a significant hangover effect.

One handle that I can follow for this is sinking and crushing into the chest that leads to a dirty sighing exhale. Wow this is awful. I need to go take a walk.

Sounds like the death/dying jhana! I can create that sensation pretty easily but I haven't really experienced it as a meditation state.

betawave: The 'haven't really experience it as a meditation state' is interesting. I guess I never "naturally" ran across this one, but only when playing around with jhana jumping did I stumble on this. I might categorize it as an extreme exaggeration of the solidity of the 3rd nana.

Or it just might be an energy pattern that falls outside of the nana system.
