Two illuminating moments from the film: Ram Dass says, "I don't like his incarnation." The little girl shouts, "I DON'T LIKE HIM!" When the wise and the guileless agree take heed.
As for me, I didn't like the guy right from the start when he used the word "vibrational." Why do new age cretins love that word so much and why do they believe it tells anything about anything? The rest of the film just confirmed that hunch. B.Das is clearly a burnt out, degenerate con-man. Personally, I don't believe in digging neck deep through filth in the scant hope of finding gold. Either it's there or it's not.

When Jeff Brown found his stolen clock at Bhagavan Das's apartment I had the distinct feeling that I was wasting time watching this. Yet, I continue(d)....
Did anyone else catch Brown's references to The Power of Now in his summation at the end? Perhaps the gold here is that Brown hasn't given up on spiritual practice and now seems to have a better notion of how to proceed with it.

While one might think about him what one wants, there is a LINE CROSSED:
He confesses to have been part of child prostitution in a 3rd world country, calls the tortured child a "13 year old w#h#o#r#e and complains that she didn't kiss him while he abused her and smiles into the camera.
Women in his environment suggest that he has reputation in molesting and probaly abusing minors and that they have to watch their children when he is around.
Would anyone in the states please download the movie and send it with a short anonymous presentation of facts to the district attorney.
these pedos have normally hundreds of victims and their lust is in no proportion to the endless suffering of their victims. The abuse normally goes on over decades of silence and everybody knows it until they are finally caught. they normally have an religious identity to free themselves from guilt and an archive of childpornography. There is no doubt to me why he really lived in india and he should be investigated quickly.

"Hilda Charlton, an eclectic spiritual teacher in New York City, took Ram Dass to see a woman she felt he should meet. He came into a room where a woman was sitting, apparently in deep samadhi. He was invited to verify her trance state by putting a mirror under her nose and trying various means to get her attention. It appeared to him that the trance was real. He then sat in the room for awhile'¢meditating with her.
"Abruptly she came out of her trance, and then appeared to channel Maharajji to him. The information being channeled seemed to be kinds of things Maharajji would discuss and things that Ram Dass had never mentioned to anyone. He was impressed, but at the same time he felt repelled by her excessive makeup, jewelry and vile language. It was explained to him that the woman was an incarnation of the Hindu deity Kali. Kali is a manifestation of the Divine Mother, who purifies people by appearing very frightening. This seemed to be a legitimate explanation for feeling uneasy about her.
"After vacillating for several weeks, Ram Dass decided to commit himself to taking teachings from this woman. Although the teacher and teachings he was receiving were supposed to be a secret, word spread among the Western devotees of Maharajji, and soon New York City became an unlikely Mecca for dozens of them who came to attend secret classes with this teacher.
"Later, Ram Dass wrote an expose of his two year involvement with this teacher. His description of the complicated web of lies, deception, sexual misconduct and drug use by his teacher portrays a classic example of a psychopath pretending to be a saint."
Bill Hamilton, 'Saints & Psychopaths,' pp. 3-4

If you want to find a nice counter-balance to this flick, I highly recommend checking out "Kumare" on iTunes. I really enjoyed it.

Kumare is amazing. Thanks for the recco, Orasis. Everybody should see Kumare, IMHO.
A filmmaker pretends to be a guru in order to prove that anyone could do it; in this way, he hopes to expose people like Bagavan Das as phonies and their disciples as fools. But the film goes much deeper than just mocking the poor dupes who buy into the ruse. In fact, I found myself connecting with many of the fake guru's disciples, who were sincere and open. And the filmmaker, in his role as fake guru, learns some priceless lessons.
A must see!
