Group Video Chat

I think the community is to small, with different habits, and also spread over time zones, for the chance to meet somebody in a short random visit.

The original approach, to set a regular time where all interested can join is better IMHO.
Like maybe:
* Every Wednesday 20:00 CET
* Every Wednesday 20:00 EST
* Every Sunday 15:00 CET
* Every Sunday 15:00 EST

If too many joins then more slots can be added.

Other thoughts to increase interest:
* Kenneth could jump in a few minutes and maybe gave group practice tips some of these times.
* A special discussion theme every week or session to get us started.
* The NYC classes could be "casted" in socialeyes. Then we can discuss afterwards, this would draw at least me to participate (can't fly to NYC twice a month ).
* Specially scheduled group teachings for students at the same development level when the ordinary schedule gets to tight to decrease workload.

Some of these would require very little extra work.

I'm up for some regularly scheduled group meetings. I think these are all sound ideas.

Let's do both: drop in randomly and schedule group meetings.

Yes, I agree with Mu that these are all sound ideas, so let's do both. In fact, Mu and Nadav and I had a great ad hoc hangout just a moment ago.

To "vote" this problem so it will get the developers' attention. Hopefully I'm not just being technologically-dense, but it seems to be an issue with their site (which is still pretty new and beta-y, it seems).

Socialeyes isn't working for me anymore. It's never worked on Chrome in the past. Now, I find that the site won't load in IE or Firefox. Is anyone else having this problem?

I've been having a problem where (once I log in) the chat page won't load and the screen will just stay white. I haven't figured out a solution; it mostly doesn't work, sometimes it does.

Socialeyes is working now for me. It stopped working for a few days. I was having the same problem as you were: the chat page wouldn't load and the screen would stay white. I think anyone problem that others may have been experiencing are coming from the site's end.

What's going on with those ping pong practice? I'm interested in trying it.
