"It doesn't matter which way you do it; if you reach the other side without having taken care of everybody, you won't have to deal with them all as the goal will be reached."

Perfect. In that case, I have used both strategies. Actually, I think I have used "finesse your way" even more than the other one.

Beoman's explanation is pretty much what I had in mind.

Keep in mind that there is this difference in the experience: if you get the crowd to leave, there is no crowd, whereas if you sneak through the crowd, the crowd remains.

Many things that I called EEs in the past were, on reflection, cases where I found some way to sneak through. But, I never realized how this was different from a case when the other strategy was applied (never even recognized the difference clearly) until I saw Kenneth write about "dualistic fixation" as the fundamental problem a couple of days ago. After that, some things clicked for me.

In any case, glad that this conversation has been helpful to you!

Yes. One could hear and understand "dualistic fixation" in a million ways without actually chipping away dualistic thinking at all. Even if one reaches the emptiest samadhi through sneaking through the crowd, the problem isn't solved.

Huge improvement for me EIS. Once again, thank you!

That's a good point. I sometimes have the frustrating thought - well, things look great... and they were looking this great months ago! Have I made any progress at all? What's all that meditating done? I guess the answer is, the crowd is more pliable, so it's easier to get that clarity on demand... the baseline has moved up, but the target is as always the same: whatever is there without dualistic fixation.

Beoman, (regarding non-return / etc.) let's keep this conversation about rigpa and Kenneth's teachings insofar as we can.

Yes, good point; I've edited that out of my post.
