You'll need to buy more champagne and airline tickets because I'm willing, too. Assuming it's legal I think it would be damned interesting, and fun, to see what would happen.

"

hm, certainly not a woman, 2 possibilities left...

Have to relativize one of my statements. Higher- and Overdosing creates "mystical" experiences and hallucinations that have nothing (or not a lot) to do with awakening. permanent changes for meditation seem to be results of low doses...

"I would agree, although I'm not sure about the depth of the healing. As I said above, hallucinogens have legitimate therapeutic uses, but therapy is not really comparable to awakening either. "

I just wanted to add a comment about the depth of healing. I think I did about 3 years of individual therapy, followed by 12 years of weekly group therapy. I benefited enormously and grew quite a bit, but at a very high financial cost.

Starting with the first trip where I became nothing and everything, followed by the next handful of trips, exposed me to a lot of deep issues, material that I was very familiar with and had already dealt with in therapy to a great degree. But being exposed to these issues at an almost unimaginably deep level, and meeting these often challenging feelings with openness, love, and acceptance at this core level, healed me in ways that are difficult to express.

To try and quantify it, I would equate the benefit I received from that handful of trips to the benefit I received from 15 years of therapy. I think that is highly significant.

I don't think everyone would get that much out of it, though. It's not automatic by any means. I think the key is that I was able to meet that material fully and let go of my resistance to it, to make friends with it, and eventually love it, and become one with it. I was willing to throw myself on the sword of delusion in combination with a powerful catalyst, and it worked for me.

I think that approach is very similar to what we can do with meditation. Maybe it isn't enlightenment, but there is something there.

Thanks for sharing this, Eric. It sounds like you put the shrooms to their best use.

Thanks for sharing Eric. I have a similar experience with ayahuasca. It completely changed my life, transformed me in the first ceremony I attended. I think this was my A & P event because after that the search really took of. But if I think of the amount of suffering I got rid of I' sometimes wonder if it could have been stream entry. I asked mother aya how to live my life with myself and others. All my fear, anger and anxiety became a knot in my stomach which I puked up. After that I had the words ACCEPT, FORGIVE descend on me from heaven resonating deep, deep inside, truth beyond words.

It lasted, when I thought of my worst "enemy" a guy I had been intensely hating for a long time there was no anger there. But the best of all was that I now accepted myself and started to be a lot more forgiving.

These tools are immensely powerful and helpful if you completely surrender to them. But you have to be ready. They won't work for all as many people will try to resist the lessons or take entheogen's for the wrong reasons.
